Digital or Analog cordless phone – handset to handset?

I need to get a cordless phone, and prefer the analog because of the clearer or better sound (per consumer reports). I’m not concerned with security. However, reading the ads it appears on multiple (or 2) handsets you can’t talk:” handset order prescription drugs to handset" with analog. Does anyone know what this means?
Does this mean you can’t talk internally from handset to handset (like an internal intercom in the house) or does this mean I can’t call out and then have another person on the second handset interacting with the call?)

analogue cordless phone? perhaps the REALLY OLD 900 MHz phones or even older, the 48MHz cordless phones (no longer sold) were analogue…
WHY would you want an analogue phone? they can be heard over open airwaves, and anyone with a radio scanner can hear your conversation, and also they are susceptible to ALOT of radio interference, as the 900 MHz frequency is an unlicensed band with many many consumer electronic devices using this frequency range…
with out seeing the details for the specific phone you are talking about I am unsure what the information means, it can either mean that it does not have an intercom feature, as you say, OR it could mean that only one handset can be used at a time, if the line is in use by handset #1, then handset #2 will not be able to access the line…
I don’t know what outdated consumer reports that you are reading… but coming from a professional in the telecom industry, you don’t want a 900 MHz phone, and if you have WiFi you don’t want a 2.4Ghz phone…
the only choice really is 5.8Ghz (lower price, less range) or DECT (most expensive, best range, best clarity, 1.9 Ghz frequency is EXCLUSIVELY for cordless phones)
for brand names stay away from Vtech, and Uniden (these are poorly made phones, packaged and sold at premium prices, but also stay away from other "cheap" phones)
Panasonic is the only brand that I use, and in all my years doing installations and repairs, panasonic phones caused the least amount of troubles as opposed to any other brand, vtech and uniden caused the most amount of troubles…
