Do you plug additional handsets to the phone line as well as the base when using digital cordless telephones?

For example, when buying multi handset digital telephone packs which come with 2 or 3 handsets. I want to place them around the house, but the telephone socket is only downstairs. Do I only have to connect the ‘base’ to the socket, and the other handsets don’t have to be plugged into a socket? Do you only plug in a mains adaptor to the additional handsets?

It depends on the type of phone system you purchased and the phone company you have. The one I have only requires the base to be plugged in to the phone jack and the extensions can be plugged only in to an electrical outlet.
no you only plug the base unit into a socket all the rest work of the base unit
no, only the base phone get plugged in…all other extensions only need an electrical outlet..I have the Uniden…with 6 extension and one blue-tooth phone! the base phone has a build-in router….
You plug one phone in the jack and an electric socket, and the other handsets into the electrical sockets.
