How do creditors get phone numbers of friends or family?

I have a friend who is filing bankruptcy and a creditor called his girlfriend and started harassing
her about his cheap online pharmacy phone numbers. He isn’t connected to her in any legal way, so he was asking me how they might of got her phone number. I’ve herd of phone-LUDS, but I think they need a court order for that. Thanks in advance. Artie J.
If someone is clever, they can figure out who is socializing with who online (Facebook for example), find an online telephone website, type in the names, and boom.
As for harassing her, the creditors are not allowed to legally do that. She has no obligations unless she cosigned for something.
They usually get it from with the person who’s filling/or whatever the case maybe, write down friends and family as contact references..That’s the only thing I can think of.
